My old journal got a bit cluttered up and it was old. I found one Camponotus chromaiodes so far this season, and she's been very sucessful already. Workers should arrive soon.

How long does it take from egg to worker in this species? I caught one on 5/23 and she's up to 8 eggs so far.

It can take months depending on the heat and the queen. Some for me took months, this one I caught not even a month ago and there is a pupae. So typically, I would say around a month and a half - two months.

Update 2 - 6/25/18
A few of this queen's pupae got tangled in cotton and failed to emerge from the cocoon, ultimately causing them to die. I noticed an empty cocoon and a naked pupae lying in there, and it appears to be almost ready to eclose.
