Hello!

Why would ants (Messor sp.) gather pieces of starch, both with vegetable oil and without, food supplement?

From time to time I see an ant getting a piece and hauling it inside the colony, so far I have only very limited ideas about - why that is happening.

*I used starch and vegetable oil as a barrier until I got some talc, in case you wonder why that's there.

Hope you all have a great time! :)
