How to build a lid with stainless steel mesh

So I've bought this ultra fine Steel mesh and I can't seem to be able to so stick it on the lid for one of my tanks like I've cut the whole on the plastic lid but I can't get it on I tried silicon but it just pops off so how do I glue it or make it work please anyone show me or any ideas thanks

Cut a hole in lid, cut bigger piece of mesh, use a strong tape to keep in place.

Or hot-glue gun it!

Super glue, but be sure it's a 100% dry before you put it anywhere near your ants.

TC, do you do a rinse on the area you superglue after its dry?

Not generally.
