Hello!
Does anyone know if mosquitoes carry any parasites and/or diseases harmful to ants, is it advisable to feed them fresh to ants?
*I am talking about northern regions of the world, such as northern europe and so on.
Thanks in advance - Rattus

I'm guessing they could carry some parasites. However, I don't know if this would be harmful toward the ants if it's a parasite of a mosquito.

I've wondered this too. Really my concern with mosquitos isn't so much the parasites, but the poisons on them. A lot of people in the area spray for mosquitos (I see the signs along the road.) They can fly quite far potentially before they find you, so I'd think there could be a risk there?
For me they'd be the perfect food, as we get large numbers of them in the summer here, in addition to black fly season starting soon ![]()

Depending on where you live, I think feeding their larvae to the ants might be a better idea.
Leave a bucket of water outside, and mosquito larvae should start to show up in it.
Harvest and freeze, rinse and repeat. Easy zero maintenance food supply ![]()
When I lived in Papue New Guinea, any sort of pool of water would have mosquito larvae swimming inside
