so i got some mini mealworms from pet co about a month ago. the container said live but, when i opened it up about 85 of the 100 mealworms have died. each week i lose about 1-3 more. now most of them are dead. when i cut them open i see that the dead mealworm  is hollow. should i soak them in water, sugar water, honey or just not feed them at all?

i don't see a problem with feeding them to your ants as ants also serve as a scavenger role in the wild so there is a good chance they will accept them. another thing to maybe think about is starting a colony of banana green roaches. they are a lot smaller than dubias so they don't require as much space to keep.

With my experense with meal/super worms when packed as young larva they are very delicate as there exoskeleton is not fully grown, and when dead for days there intestines with expand and apere to be hollow as well as lack of watery food or water will make them to dry and turn black, but if they where kept in a BPA plastic container they tend to die and cam be harmful.
