I’ve always wanted to get into trying to make my own formicarium and I really like the design of the THA mini hearth. I’m planning to use some sort of firebrick and carve it out with a dremel. Does anybody have any tips on making this type of formicarium? Any help would greatly be appreciated!

FSTP, made a formicarium from plaster I believe, that very much resembles THA's Mini hearth's. However on that thread his images are on photobucket, so they'd need to be updated.

I would recommend making something more efficient with better hydration. Find a method other than a watertower and make a design that uses space effectively.

I made something like it. I use them only of my honey pots. I like them for what there are. I personally like a more natural setup now. But they are easy to build and work. Maybe it's just getting older and want less work and I just appreciate the natural dirt set up either in a vivarium with plants or catus, twigs wood, and rocks or a dirt shack with a simple out world. I also reversed my thoughts on test tubes. Now it's all I use other then my honey pots which I start in hydrostone and dirt jars. Ant keeping must be circular 😁
