Adding Queens to existing Tapinoma Colony

Hey guys,

as you may have read i started a Tapinoma Sessile colony with 3 queens that is doing very well. I'm about to come into possession of another 3 queen colony with not nearly as many workers. my question is... they were separated at one point by the seller I'm trading with from 6 to 3 ea. is it ok if i put the soon to be newly acquired queens and their workers back together? my colony is around 125 -150 workers and the one I'm trading for is 3 queens and a dozen or so workers. i don't want to just drop them in to find out that they won;'t get along. i know they are poly so its a matter if i have to cool them or noT to re-introduce. any help would be appreciated.

I'd do it. I've done lots of experiments with Tapinoma sessile and this works nearly 100% of the time.

Just to be on the safe side, put a few workers from one colony in with the other, and see if they fight. If not, then you're good to go.

I've tried this with my colony and they were always quite aggressive. I've only managed successful introductions by cooling them down and providing a lot of distraction via vibrations. That seemed to work about 2/3 of the time for me.
