Hey, guys.
I just recently purchased a Tetramorium Caespitum queen with eight workers and larvae/eggs.
Do Tetramoriums stop laying eggs when ready to hibernate or will the young survive the colder temperatures? Thanks,

They stop laying eggs generally, however they will still have brood. Mine don't have eggs, but a few hundred larvae.

This is my experience as well. On year 2 of hibernation with these two Tetramorium colonies, and found they will keep going/foraging if given the opportunity. However I noticed the brood pile slowed development for me in the Fall a bit. Last year I waited until end of Nov (I live in the north east) as the workers kept active until I basically forced them into hibernation. I didn't lose a single worker in either colony last year during hibernation.
