Has anyone ever considered rigging a way for your ants to forage outside? I've considered this by way of using a screen that the queen can't fit through. Anyone else considered it?

I have heard people say this time and time again, but sadly anything I have read says this is impossible. They will move without the queen with a sort of satellite nest until they chew at the exit enough for them to exit. I have also heard that they will take the queen apart and take her out in pieces. Other ants may come in and kill your colony. Unfortunately, this is not an option.

That's unfortunate.
