When to find Queens in my Area

Well, since the last ant that I thought was queen turned out to be just an ant. I still need a queen ant. I know I'm a bit late because it's not spring anymore, but does anyone know any queen ants that are common to find this time of year? I live in the Mojave Desert of California. 🐜🕵🏻

You aren't too late, you can still find Pheidole, Solenopsis, Formica, Crematogaster, Aphaenogaster. I don't know that much about California ants but you may still be able to catch Honeypot Ants, Atta, Acromyrmex, I'm not sure though.

Atta don't live in California.

However, there should be flights after any rain in your area during this time of year. There are several members here from Southern California that can give you more advice.
This thread is a goldmine for information about finding queens in the California desert.
