Keeping that many nigrocincta in your house is a bold endeavor. :)

These ants know very well the power they possess, and don't hesitate in announcing a charge.

I would love to have been there to watch you dig that nest.

I picture several moments of dropping everything and running with arms flailing. :lol:

I read the earlier topic from years ago about digging up myrmecia, and I thought it was just going to say "don't even try it".
All I can say is that is ballsy stuff right there. I was bitten or stung by a big [censored] as a kid (I now know must have been some evil myrmecian beast) and it was the most pain I have ever experienced.
Anyone that's been close to these and seen the way the follow you with their gaze just adds to the nastiness.

I don't know about you guys but I find these ants to be the cutest things I have ever seen.

Same. I like their eyes :)

I don't know about you guys, but this ant really reminds me of Pseudomyrmex gracilis, from the color patterns to the body shape.
