Hi,

 

In Hong Kong, Ghost ants are pretty much the equivalent of the american Argentine ants. They form super colonies with thousands of queens and attack neighboring species. today i felt a little itchy so i poured a drip of water into the entrance of a ghost ant colony, tons of queens swarmed out and i ended up with 8 queens and no workers :o . i guess i will have to return

i got two workers, the others drowned  :facepalm:, they have laid some eggs

Well, did the queens have wings? How do you now they weren't alates rather than fertile queens?

no wings, i have never actually seen alate ghost ants males or female

Ghost Ants can mate in nest as well.

i managed to catch 3 more workers, the workers run sooooooo quickly Q_Q

 

the queens have laid some eggs

today i flooded the nest again and harvested about 50 workers, i shoved them in the fridge and poured them in the tube, no aggression so far

eggs in a little pile, like sweet stuff but  turned down cookie crumbs, they have medians (i think)

well NOT looking good, two queens have died and their testube is starting to mould, they do have some brood though

i caught 4 queens and 50 ~ 60 workers, alate pupae enclosed and within 3 days i had 8 queens, doing VERY well
