Well I know that's not Lasius alienus, since they have much darker workers.
Are those nanitics fully colored? Like when did they eclose?
If they're fully darkened I'd have to say they're most likely Lasius neoniger. I might be wrong though, since I'm a complete noob at Id-ing.


It looks like a neoniger to me also

You can take a look at nanitics with their hardened exoskeleton @ 6:00 mark.

 

 

I believe it is Lasius neoniger and subsequently I updated my Lasius journal title to reflect that.

Actually... Now I'm not so sure on whether they're Lasius neoniger. The workers seem a little bit too black. I've never actally seen Lasius neoniger workers, but I believe they're supposed to be brown, while Lasius alienus is darker, and black.

I originally caught two queens. They had fairly different colors. The survived queen is dark brown while the other queen who didn't make through hibernation was very light brown, so some color variation is expected.

Lasius Niger are a little lighter color. Maybe a little greenish brown if that helps
