Thought I'd share my set up

Temps inside are 86 near the light, 83 further away from the light. L. occidentale typically go on top of the clarithorax with the rest of the cooler species but I moved them for the photo.

Have you always used a basking lamp or have you tried non-light forms of heating and keeping them in the dark? Can they see the red light? Curious because I've been keeping all mine in the dark so as not to stress them.

I use red light because while some species can see red light it's much less stressful for them. It's kind of like looking at UV light for us-- you can't see the full spectrum of the light being displayed, but you can see some.

 

I've considered covering them all the same but they seem to be doing well.

Thanks for the info, I like the idea. They stay warm and comfortable but you can still see them without turning on a light.

 

Plus the red light looks awesome, you forgot that part Totally jealous of all the species diversity you have btw
