How can I make my outworld sand safe?

Hey so I'm planning on getting sand for my outworld but I've heard that some is harmful with chemicals added to it. I was planning on getting some from Home Depot and washing then putting it in the oven to be on the safe side. What's your thoughts and own ideas regarding this sand situation.

Generally baking play sand is fine. Honestly, you could, but likely won't need to wash it.
