Was anting on the Plum Island beach in MA when I found this beauty right on the beach sand, next to a vegetated area. About 25 mm, one of the biggest insects I've seen. It unfortunately was missing a leg and would often flip on it's back, so probably didn't make it for long after I took some shots of it.
