1. Location of collection Found in a trailer park (creek/small ammount of trees around) in summerville south carolina
2. Date of collection; 5/29/2017.
3. Habitat of collection: trailerpark surrounded by trees/creeks with one or two fields
4. Length: measured 6-7 mm best i can give
5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture:. Black all over
6. Distinguishing characteristics: none i can see
7. Anything else distinctive: moves slow and methodical, can't cling to surfaces well. 
8. Nest description none

This looks like a Lasius umbratus group social parasite to me. They can be kept in captivity, but it's not easy! You should read more about it here, if you are interested.
