Hey so I applied a layer of Vaseline to an outworld will that do for some brand new velvety tree ants? Until I get some fluon?

Vegetable/canola/olive oil will for sure work. Alot of species can get over Vaseline barriers. Just be sure to get some fluon, because oil has to be re-applied every few days.
