Hi, I'm totally new to this and hope I can get help IDing this ant. I think it's a queen. Thanks in advance.
 
1. Location of collection: Loma Alta Park in Altadena, California
2. Date of collection: 5/8/2017
3. Habitat of collection: Park. Queen found wondering on concrete near a dried swimming pool. On the other side of the concrete walkway are trees and leaf-littered dry soil floor.
4. Length (from head to gaster): 6-7mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Dark body, red/light mandibles
6. Distinguishing characteristics: N/A
7. Distinguishing behavior: Fast?
8. Nest description: N/A
