I want to give my Camponotus Pennsylvanicus natural wood and let it nest in there. Is that a good idea? Can I do that? If so, how do I do it?

Check out drew's design threads linked in his signature. There is a wooden type nest for Camponotus in there somewhere.

Hit "Like This" if it helped.

Please refrain from making multiple threads asking the same question, patience is a virtue.

You will always need to consider hydration as if in wood it evaporates quickly. Though Camponotus doesn't need that much, wood nests still are not better than a test tube for most species.

All my colonies are dead.

 Except:

  Pogonomyrmex barbatus

  Pheidole obscurithorax

  Pheidole morens
