I've had them for a year and a half now, I just moved them to a THA fortress fromicarium.

I moved another colony of Camponotus noveboracensis with the same lamp and distance, but 10 or so died from the heat.

I watched them closely and they died so fast, even moving the light away it was to late, so I learned a lesson there. But these gals seem quite happy in there new home.

I don't know about Camponotus noveboracensis but I keep Camponotus pennsylvanicus which is almost identical and the workers for my colony lived for at the least 1.5 years.

Yes, I would say its about the same. I've read up to 1-2 years in good conditions.
