Hello, I would like to know if someone knows what this brown goop is, it's there for quite some time, seems to be harmless to the ants. That chamber where the goop is, is where the ants were keeping their trash, maybe it's something left from what were decomposing the dead bodies.

OBS: This is the Pachycondyla striata nest.

I think that may be from the trash or the food you fed them.

A friend that also have Pachycondyla said that their poop is liquid, and it's probably it. Thanks for the answers.

My guess would be bacteria feeding on waste products from the ants. Looks smelly. Do they have an alternate setup as a backup? Are you having condensation problems? Perhaps you have too much humidity and the formicarium is in a location where the temperature is unstable, causing condensation?

It looks like some bacteria, because i don't think they are putting their excrements in the nest
