1. Location of collection: southern part of Austria, both found in a forest
2. Date of collection: both colonies were caught 3 weeks ago
3. Habitat of collection: forest, both colonies were nesting in a cobnut
4. Length (from head to gaster): Colony 1: Worker: 2-3 mm, Queen: about 4 mm

Colony 2: Worker: about 2 mm, Queen: about 3 mm

I thought both of the colonies were Temnothorax nylanderi, but because I'm a newbie I wanted to ask you guys for confirmation or other ideas on the species of these two colonies.
I hope the quality of the pictures are ok. They are the best I can get from this tiny ants.
Thank you and if you need any more information feel free to ask!

Temnothorax crassispinus if I had to take a wild guess. (Don't quote me on this.) And Embed images in posts will get me responses. ;)

Yeah, I would say so. However my ID's can't be pretty rough. So maybe someone else can give a second opinion.

OK thank you! Well, it would be really appreciated if someone else would even be joining the discussion.

So today someone told me colony 1 could be T. unifasciatus and colony 2 might be T. nylanderi/crassipinus.

Any thoughts on this one?
