Prenolepis imparis started flying today in Topeka Kansas about 11am.

One of the warmest days of the year at 77 degrees, with a Tornado warning, and cool, damp winds gusting over 30mph. I checked a couple places, but it may have been a relatively small scale flight. Still, dozens of males everywhere. Really scratching my head on why the ants picked today, as we've been having this wind for a day or two. Maybe the flight will be more widespread tomorrow after tonight's rains?

Fellow Kansan but on the opposite side of the state. I'm new at anting but hoping to find a queen so I can begin my own colony. I was excited to read your post and have been watching, but so far no sighting. However, this is likely more due to my novice status than actual reality. In any matter, here is to finding a queen of my own in Dodge City!

I am alone here in nebraska too bud. Lol i have found some before, but i fail to keep them due to not really doing research just trying to do it alone. I am on here now so i hope to catch a bunch and get them to survive this year! Just sucks I see people on forums saying they are from Nebraska, but that was 2 people out of 6 forums and both like 4 year old responses.
