So today I walked to the small storage room where i keep tools on the yard looking for a wire wheel for the dremel... Back on the hiuse i felt a sharp bute on the leg, wasn't that bad but it was annoying so i end up taking my pants off and look what i found!

I'm going to assume that's some kind of ponerine ant. Dunno which kind; maybe Batspiderfish can sort this one out.

It's around maybe 7mm, i don't think it's a wasp because beyond redness where i got bite there is not sign of allergic reaction... Today, Florida panhandle (panama city)

Definitely Pseudomyrmex gracilis. I'm in Pensacola and we have a lot of them.

I was surprised for the size of this guy, when i was checking on the pants I was expecting a spider or something, i never expect to be one ant!!!

Jealous! It's a queen too! I used to have a queen but it died. I thought it was old age or starvation but a worm emerged from her soon after. Sad

Not a queen. I've had many colonies of this species, and the queens easily reach 13 mm, this was a callow worker most likely having a nest nearby. They have a nasty sting, you're very lucky it didn't sting you.
