Hello, Down here in South Florida some days reach the upper 80s already.  In my neighborhood every night a sprinkler system turns on and stays on for about an hour, all through out my neighborhood. I was wondering if these conditions could trigger Nuptial flights at all or even so often that when it actually does rain there are less ants to go around and mate. How fast could large ant colonies replenish their alates. My neighborhood was built on a former golf course so there are ALOT of colonies. Thank you.

I have never notice matting flights being trigger by sprinkler systems here, but not every yard has them so maybe there is not enough moisture from "rain" to trigger the event... We have some so far a couple of good days here (NW Florida) but beyond a more activity of small ants all over the yard i have not see any nuptial flights at all

Humidity, Temperatures, and soil conditions all have to align.
