Must be in LA to pick them up.

I got 4 queens from PTAntfan varying in size of colony.

I'm keeping one, and as it is they are crazy and I need to figure out a new formicarium for them as they are escaping the new one I moved them into.

As such I don't need the other three

1 queen with around 30 workers

1 queen with a few workers & brood

1 queen with a few workers & possible brood

They will come in the formicarium I got from PTAntfan

Free to a good home lol

One per person please

I would love to own an ant colony, and I live in Los Angeles. This would be an awesome opportunity for me, but I have not kept any colonies and I am new to this hobby. i would want them, but since these are Southern Fire ants, it probably would not be the best for a complete beginner to own one. Good luck on finding an owner. :D

They are actually fairly easy to keep and pretty forgiving to errors. Especially at their current colony size they aren't too difficult. As they progress it may become more of a challenge but nothing too difficult just prevent them from escaping and feed them

So would it be recommendable for a beginner, who has not kept one?

maybe you should take the first 3 people who replied. I mean that would be fair cause they asked first.

If any got taken or picked please tell us!

I understand your position, but this thread is pretty new and most people responded to this thread quickly. So, I would believe it would most fair of the owner of the colony made a contest or get choose randomly. However, the owner should be the one who chooses who gets the colony or the method he/she decides to use. Good luck in finding and/or choosing an owner.

i am not interested, but you should just put it into a big draw like crystal does with her formicariums.

This seems the most fair. Note: I also am not interested.
