C. pennsylvanicus had another flight tonight in northeast Kansas.  There was a lot of alate movement that past couple of weeks in the colonies around my neighborhood and tonight there was none when I checked after work.  Thinking that this was odd compared to any other night here lately I started searching other trees and deadwood around the area and sure enough there were dealate queens everywhere!  I only grabbed the biggest one I could find.
