Hello all.

What is a recommended cleaning solution for plastics that is safe for ants? The plastics being polypropylene test tubes, vinyl tubing, and Tupperware. Would dish soap, alcohol, or a bleach solution be safe/preferred? Also would it be different for a straight from the factory/store pre-clean vs used moldy setup?

It just occurred to me that I have never had to clean something for an insect and I am not sure what is safe. Its time to swap test tubes and prepare for eventual homemade formicarium.

Thank you for your time.

For hard surfaces and plastics, I use soap and water. If it's still grimy after that, a topical hydrogen peroxide solution will disinfect, and then rinse.
