I'm wondering if anyone knows if milk is harmful to ants.  It's rich in proteins, sugars, fats, and nutrients so I thought it might be a good food candidate, but I haven't tried it.

They probably won't touch milk.  I have yet to find ants that are receptive to it in homogenized form, or to denatured milk proteins such as in protein powders, without the addition of other attractants, such as sugar.  Consequently, I am unconvinced that ants are able to derive any nutritive benefit from milk or milk products, including whey or casein.
