They will fly any hot humid days with light winds up through early June. Peak flights are in May in my area.

They fly 10am-12pm. Don’t bother with blacklighting until night time temps are 75 and up well after sunset.

They are day flyers.

I know some Coptotermes species (not sure about other species, however.. R. flavipes and C. formosanus are the only termites I have ever caught) are night flyers, however. They are a menace at my lights when blacklighting for ants lol.

Thanks for the advice I hope to catch them soon. I found a dead dealate in a Aphaenogaster nest the other day no wings anywhere in sight so I think some have flown recently.

If you want to keep tabs on when they fly, I recommend checking for "termites" in your state on iNat (Observations · iNaturalist). Looks like they're already flying - using the location tag on each observation you can check where each swarm was. Best of luck!
