Excavated complete colony 8/21/16.

Size: 7/16"

Color: Black. Grey bands on gaster.

Notes: Large thorax.

My son and I were able to successfully, (we think), excavate and collect a complete Odontomachus colony from our property. 50 workers, larvae and brood. Please help confirm that we have the queen. All in the formicarium and moved right into the decayed, hollowed out branch positioned against the glass. After guiding the "queen" in, all the workers marched and carried the colony in after.

Having kept Odontomachus, I can gladly confirm you have indeed collected the queen and a nice healthy colony. Keep them well hydrated and with a variable warmth gradient. Good luck!
