Hi everyone!

I would like to know the main differences between Messor barbarus and Messor wasmanni, except size, color and habitat. There seems to be a lot less information about Messor wasmanni.

M. wasmanni is found in the eastern Mediterranean while M. barbarus in the western.

M. wasmanni ussually have a black head and gaster and a dark red thorax. M. barbarus have a dark thorax and gaster and a redish head.2ls9lsh.jpg
