I purchased one of these http://unclemiltonst...tem&itemId=0015. I wanted to put my Pogonomyrmex in there because I like the style of a dirt nest but I found it too difficult to make one myself. They refuse to dig though and instead choose to nest in the plastic tube I used to connect them to the formicarium. How can I force them out of the tube? I have tried light, vibrations, heat and I even changed the substrate, nothing seems to work.

You could try putting light/heat on the substrate where they are supposed to dig. They are probably attracted to the heat. All my ants and ants I've had dig where the light is, and the dark part of my formicariums are pretty much empty.

I will try this. Thank you
