I found this queen last August with all the Lasius Neoniger queens. I noticed that she was different from the other queens. She was very yellow in comparison. I took her out of hibernation this week and I took some pics. Any guesses? Perhaps Lasius flavus?CA
2. Date of collection: 6-2015
3. Time of collection: 5-6 pm
4. Length (from head to gaster): 6-7 mm.
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: golden, striped gaster, brown head and thorax, yellow legs, yellow under gastor.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Lasius sp. 2l0fs.jpgvyt5zq.jpg

Could be a queen in the flavus group of Lasius. Dr. Trager may have a better idea.
