I saw some little ants in New Caledonia during my recent travel. I think they maybe crazy yellow ants. They are fast and drink up water very quickly. Quite an aggressive species though.

Those are ghost ants, Tapinoma melanocephalum, which live in every tropical city in the world. Yellow crazy ants are about twice their size, much yellower, and much faster, and less ubitquitous.
By the way, New Caledonia has fascinating native ants. Got any pictures of those?

I see. I was only there for a short stay so didn't discover other native species (except a common black ant near the tree which I didn't take photo of).
