Corizus sp. ?

That's actually Lygaeus kalmii, the small milkweed bug.  They, as their name suggests, feed on milkweed for their whole lives.

Today during the morning I found this little bug. After a few google searches I think it might be a Corizus sp. which are also known as cinnamon bugs. Can any one confirm what genus or species this is? (I'm also pretty cinnamon does not in Canada.)

 

 

Either way here's some pictures. One of the more prettier coloured bugs I've seen around the place :D

I hate those things! I call them "Maple Bugs" they used to swarm all over inside my Grandma's house, you'd move the couch to find like 10 or so under it :lol:

 

They are very common outdoors in the spring and summer around here.

  1. I think the species is Pyrrhocoris apterus or firebug which is very similar to the Cinnamon Bug which is primarily in Europe.

I grew up in Tucson and during the spring those things are every where. sorry you never seen them before.
