Due to not so recent events and having to move soon, I need to package my ants and send them to another ant keeper. I've already solved everything, like who is going to receive my ants and what I'm shipping them in. My only problem is the packaging. I have to make sure that the ants survive in minus degrees weather (in Celsius) and I have to make sure that the ants don't get stressed out during shipping.

Any advice?

Currently keeping:

1x Formica subsericea, 35-40 workers + maybe eggs                                                                       *New* 2x Camponotus nova, one has only larva

1x Crematogaster cerasi, All workers is ded   :facepalm:*extreme internal screaming*                        1x Myrmica ruba sp around 10 workers + pupa

*New* 1x Temnothorax curvispinosus, 101 or something worker + 3 or 4 royal mom ants + pile of white ant worms

*As you watch your ants march, remember that every thing begins with a small step and continued by diligence and shared dreams* -A.T (which is Me)

Sadly due to unforeseen consequences, I will soon be giving away my colonies (I will miss them though  :*( )

Hello OwlThatLikesAnts;

I hope I'm still the guy you're sending your ants to, if that's the case, my recommendation would be to wrap them well in bubble wrap, include a heat pack if you can get one, and ship them via Purolator.   Make sure the package is clearly marked "Live Ants - Do Not Freeze" and "This End Up" and that my address is clearly visible.   I'll happily pay the shipping cost, just let me know when I can expect delivery, so I can be home to receive them.   I hope, wherever you move to, that you'll be able to keep track of their progress in my Journal.   Good Luck

RPT
