Hello everyone!

I have found this 3D printed nest on makerworld which has a very interesting finish.
It almost looks like ytong but it is coating the inside of the 3d print.

Does anyone know how to achieve that?
I have tried reaching out to the author but no luck.

Hello Thire;

I’ve achieved a similar looking effect by mixing tile grout and fine sand with just enough water to make a thick slurry that I “painted” on a surface to roughen it up.

Thank you for the quick response RPT! I’ll try your technique, that makes sense.

I was wondering if there was something special since some of the pictures look like the texture is porous like aerated concrete/ytong, but that can’t be “painted” afaik.
