2. Date of collection: 8/11/25
3. Habitat of collection: wooded area
4. Length (from head to gaster): between 6-7mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: she's much more reddish than the picture would show.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: small hair on gaster
7. Distinguishing behavior: very skittish similar to formica
8. Nest description: n/a

9. Nuptial flight time and date:


Hey guys, found this queen just running on my driveway tonight at about 10. I am really clueless as to what she is. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

She looks like an aphaenogaster queen. I'm not sure the exact species, though she could be aphaenogaster rudis or occidentalis.
