Location of collection: Illinois, collected around 12 pm today (Aug 1)
Habitat of collection: Suburban neighborhood, in my backyard 
Length: About 11 mm
Distinguishing characteristics: Very quick

I agree. I caught 4 of them today up in Wisconsin. Saw a bunch of male Formica flying last night and tonight so the queens were flying today and maybe yesterday after all that rain we got Wednesday.
