I have seen multiple Aphaenogaster colonies in my area with alates just below wood or rocks. In the past 2 days, I have observed more and more alate activity. I have even seen alates sitting at under loose prices of wood which have airflow along with males and workers

However, in the past 2 years I have not managed to catch more than 1 queen(which sadly does the same day) under a rock seemingly after a flight. This, I want to know what time of the day Aphaenogaster fly.sobo can try to catch some more queens.

Aphaenogaster alates and workers under a piece of bark:

I would also like to mention that I have looked through most of the ants sites out there and there are no information on this topic. There was a post about the time of day Aphaenogaster fly but it had no response.

Set up a blacklight trap before the sun rises at dawn, and you’ll get likely get some.
