1. Location (on a map) of collection: wisconsin
2. Date of collection: 7/14/25 7:30 am walking on driveway
3. Habitat of collection: wooded area
4. Length (from head to gaster): about 1/4 inch, between 6-7mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: brownish/reddish thorax with dark head and gaster.
6. Distinguishing characteristics:
7. Distinguishing behavior:
8. Nest description:
9. Nuptial flight time and date: found 7:30am on driveway
I found her walking on my driveway early this morning.i was originally thinking aphaenogaster rudis but she seems a little small. Maybe some other apheanogaster species? Thanks again for the help guys!

Thank you! I'm lucky she didn't sting me! I was holding her in my hand this morning trying to look at her thinking she was an apheanogaster! I wonder if I actually caught another one of these a week ago or so that I also thought was an apheanogaster

Was doing some reading on this species, it seems the popular ones in Wisconsin which seems to probably be myrmica incompleta I'm guessing. These are semi claustral right? This will be my first semi claustral species I'm keeping or trying to keep I should say. This myrmica species seems really hard to identify the exact species but I'd imagine they all need care roughly the same?

All Myrmica are semi-claustral, and North American species are practically identical in care regiment.
