Hi everyone! I’m Tanni - a rookie ant keeper from England, I’m currently keeping a small colony of Messor Barbarus, they’re so fascinating to look at. A little about me, I’m 27 and a huge KISS fan :) I got in to ants because my two year old son is obsessed with A Bugs Life and I started asking questions about ants because I watched it so much and became so interested in what I learnt about them!

I’m glad to have found this forum and excited to learn more about ants!

Welcome! Formiculture is a wealth of information and stories we look forward to you adding yours! For starters, you can use the advanced search option and search "Messor barbarus" in the journals section to see how others are caring for their colonies. Good luck!

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8
