Need help identifying this queen.

 

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Springville Utah, https://maps.app.goo...YwQ5bKMkzaq6VV7
2. Date of collection: June 8, 2025
3. Habitat of collection: Caught crawling across side walk
4. Length (from head to gaster):  ~10mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black (glossy) with reddish brown limbs.  Some grey banding of abdomine (due to hairs?)
6. Distinguishing characteristics: 
7. Distinguishing behavior:  Quite active, four eggs laid since week of June 16.
8. Nest description: 
9. Nuptial flight time and date:

Looks like a Formica species. You can check antmaps for a list of species in your area

Check my formica journal in my signature and compare her to the Formica montana queen in it as she looks similar, or follow the ID thread there if you want to attempt an ID yourself.
