Anyone ever try using natural, low fire clay to make nests?

I have earthenware clay that I am planning on making bonsai pots with. What about ant nests though? If the clay soaks water up slowly then it should work. It's also easy for me to work with and I have some ideas already.

Crystals used to use clay to make nests. Look back in the archives.
