Just recently got back into antkeeping. Any tips on keeping Brachymyrmex patagonicus?

Long time no see! Welcome back! Now I haven’t kept this species as its range is far from mine, but I have kept B. depilis (Brachymyrmex depilis) in which similar care is provided. Should be kept at 75 - 82° F, pretty fast to workers. Now this colony unfortunately only made it through founding so I was only ever able to give honey as one preferred source of carbohydrates. They also like sugar water, and because I had S. molesta which also has similar care (due to the fact that they’re ranges overlap meaning that environment is very similar) then, I fed them mealworms and Dubai roach legs which I also believe Brachymyrmex like. Care is pretty simple, only hard part is moving them because of their obvious size. I recommend to move via the test-tube to test-tube method (one test tube connected to another, fresh one) when the time comes. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Keeping:

1x - S. molesta REBOOT (founding)         1x - C. pennsylvanicus (founding)   (y) New!

2x - C. chromaiodes (founding queen and colony)

1x - T. sessile (mega colony)

1x - C. nearcticus (alate ==> founding?)
