Personally no, not really, although I do enjoy a good 3x3 speed cube from time to time (I used to know how to solve one, haha) but my friend (who goes by Coffeblock) is VERY into cubing. He's done 2x2, 3x3 (record is something around 40 s), 5x5, 7x7, and whatever the pyramid one is. You can probably find him online, he has a website, but not about cubing haha.
