How do I get my ants to move out of their test tube and into a mini hearth? I have already tried light.
I keep:
Pogonomyrmex Rugosus journal
Myrmecocystus Deplisis journal
Monomorium ergatogyn Journal
And many Carnivorous plants such as:
Dionea (fly trap), Sarracenia x 'Fiona' ( American Pitcher plant), Nepenthese ventrata (Tropical Pitcher plant), and Pinguicula agnata x emarginata (Butterwort)
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores it's provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. Proverbs 6: 6-8

You can try heat: if your ants like heat stop heating the test tube and then heat the mini hearth, or if they don't like heat you can start heating the test tube and don't heat the mini hearth, though note: do NOT heat the test tube too much or you can drown your ants by the water in the water section of the tube evaporating and then condensation happens in the part of the tube with the ants. You can try humidity: you can heat up the test tube so it dries out faster so they will move into the moister mini hearth for water, but this can be risky because of the same problem of heating the test tube so do NOT give the test tube too much heat. You can also just try using a brighter light to get them to move.

Currently keeping:
Brachymyrmex patagonicus
Solenopsis invicta
Crematogaster sp.
You can darken the mini heart and shine some light. It will take time but should work. as a last resort I would dump them in.

You can also tap on the test tube a little in addition to the methods already listed, vibrations always make ants feel uncomfortable.

just now I almost baked my ants.Try direct sunlight on a day that is not too hot. Supervise carefully, so you don’t bake the ants.

This method also comes with the risk of flooding the test tube. Keep the water part in shade or underneath something.
