This was shared in one of the German ant groups.
I have not observed any adverse effects of magnets on ants, and all my ants are now in nests with magnets.
However, one company (no idea, which, I did not check) seems to advertise their nests as superior because they do not use magnets. And that magnets are bad for ants.
But actually, I think this is just aggressive advertising.
I can understand this could be the case in species with a magnetic sense (where scientists did experiments with electromagnets).
But the usual ants we keep in our nests?
Anybody made some observations?

I doubt most ants would even notice the magnets, let alone be harmed by it.

Ants are small creatures... but together... they can rule the world.

I've also looked into this as it was also initially a concern of mine,  but have not found any evidence. The surface magnetic field penny sized(0.75 inch) can vary depending on what type of magnet and it's properties/shape. TLDR version is, the surface magnetic field of the magnets used by Tar Heel Ants are not high enough to be of concern, although admittingly I have not found any article/studies on it's effects on ants. Perhaps that ant group can cite sources of their information?

I suspect they may be referring to a video stated by this article and I think we call can say the magnets from the Tar Heel ants nests do very little to repel them.
